the Swiss Water Process, which uses water and filters without chemicals, and chemical methods, which often leave an aftertaste. All methods begin by soaking the green beans to release the caffeine and end with separating the beans. Decaffeinated coffee can be surprisingly full-flavored – ranging from subtle chocolate notes to nutty or fruitier profiles, depending on origin and roast. If you previously had the impression that decaffeinated coffee is „flat,“ here is a chance to change that.
Selection tip: if you want a versatile flavor, opt for a more balanced variety; if you prefer a more pronounced espresso, look for a fuller body and longer aftertaste. And if you are unsure, let us know how you prepare your coffee (espresso / moka pot / filter)—we will recommend accordingly.
