Single Origin
Single Origin chocolates are ideal when you want to explore the differences between specific countries, plantations, and particular regions of origin. Each bar can reveal different notes—from fruity and floral to nutty or spicy—and is perfectly suited for slow tasting, ideally paired with rum or coffee.
Single Origin chocolates are made from a single variety of cocoa beans sourced exclusively from one specific geographic area, farm, or region, giving them a unique and unrepeatable flavor profile that, similar to wine, varies according to climate and soil. Conventional chocolates use a blend of beans
from various parts of the world, whereas Single Origin chocolates exclusively use one specific type of bean, making the variety and origin of the cacao tree the key factors. This allows the specific notes of that origin to shine through with a regionally defined taste. If you are just starting with Single Origin chocolates, try selecting two different chocolates from the same country and compare their flavors side by side—the differences are often surprisingly distinct.
