The cocoa beans from which this chocolate is made originate from the southernmost part of Mexico, from the Mayan region of Chiapas. They belong to ancient varieties and the Bonnat family discovered them after years of searching and adventure. Thanks to the collaboration with Bonnat, local farmers now cultivate them sustainably, and their production contributes to the development of the entire region. Tastefully balanced, with fruity notes, intense yet delicate.

The small family chocolate factory from the town of Voiron in France was founded in 1884 and is primarily known for its range of „single-origin“ chocolates and milk chocolates with an extra high cocoa content.
The Bonnat chocolate factory was the first to propose a range of bar chocolates, with 75% cocoa, where each chocolate in this range is made from cocoa beans of a different region. This idea quickly caught on and is now imitated by a number of manufacturers. These chocolates began to be called „single-origin“ or plantation or single-variety chocolates.
The family Bonnat is also recognized for the exceptional quality of raw materials used in the production of all editions of chocolate bars. In production, it uses only cocoa and pure cocoa butter without any admixture of vegetable fats, cane sugar instead of beet sugar. As one of the few manufacturers, it does not use soy lecithin,, vanilla, vanillin, or artificial flavorings. All products are 100% free from genetically modified organisms..
